WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM SATURDAY TO 6 AM EST SUNDAY

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM SATURDAY TO 6 AM EST SUNDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA FROM SOUTH TO NORTH ON SATURDAY MORNING. THE SNOW COULD BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES DURING SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT BEFORE TAPERING OFF EARLY SUNDAY. THERE IS A LIKELIHOOD FOR A SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL THIS WEEKEND WITH FINAL AMOUNTS OF 8 TO 12 INCHES LIKELY.

THE SNOW COULD FALL HEAVY AT TIMES... WHICH MAY COMBINE WITH GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS TO PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. THIS WILL CAUSE DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT.

THERE IS STILL UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE TRACK OF THIS DEVELOPING STORM. IF A MORE WESTWARD TRACK MATERIALIZES... SNOW AMOUNTS COULD BE HIGHER. A MORE EASTWARD TRACK WOULD YIELD LIGHTER AMOUNTS.

This engine was commissioned for us in 1989, has been the first-out apparatus on all structure fires and has served us faithfully. Many firefighters from decades past have travelled this engine as their horse and it has seen more fire that any other vehicle in the fleet.

As we make way for our new engine commissioned in 2009 to 4 Guys Fire Trucks, we remember the dedication and service that The Mack Attack has given us. The Mack Attack will be donated to the Cabot Industries Fire Brigade on Wednesday, October 28, 2009.

Along with assisting the township personnel with lighting at several sites where trees had fallen into the roadway, electrical fires were top of the list. Transformers blew, wires arched, roads were blocked and in 4 hours, we mitigated.

There was an incredible demand for personnel and we're proud to report that 4 of the 6 apparatus we own were on the road answering the calls.

Our thanks go out to the firefighters and fire police who were there to assist the township and the residents for their compassion and understanding as we moved from one problem to another.

Information for all of the incidents will be posted later on in the week. It was a job well done; but more importantly... every one came home!

Each year in the United States, thousands of volunteer fire departments suffer from a pandemic most commonly known by firefighters as "Water Battle Syndrome" or W.B.S. This condition, transmittable through the air, causes fire departments to senselessly launch attacks on other fire companies using water hoses and pressurized water fire extinguishers.

Recently, the Ringing Hill Fire Company in Lower Pottsgrove Township has become inflicted with WBS causing them to unknowing show up at our fire station armed with weapons of the trade and in good order, the Gilbertsville Fire & Rescue Company has shown it's resolve and cunning by responding to these attacks with the 3500 gal. tanker truck and 1 3/4" hand lines.

YOU can help fight W.B.S. by supporting us in our struggle to cure the infected fire company by simply honking your horn as you drive by the fire station and see a Ringing Hill fire truck in the area. With your support, the firefighters of the Gilbertsville Fire & Rescue Company can defend early in the case of these attacks and PREVENT the Ringing Hill Fire Company from infecting our station with "Water Battle Syndrome".
